So I think we all know how good Epsom salt soaks are for us, right? They give us much needed Magnesium (that helps reduce inflammation), can reduce stress, detox the body. Plus a bath is just a nice way to treat yourself. Have you tried adding Essential Oils to your bath? And they floated on the top of the bathwater? Then you are going to love this hack.
It’s as simple as adding the oils to the Epsom Salt BEFORE adding them both to the bath water. #nice
I have a glass cup next to the bath where I mix them. I scoop the salts (the general consensus seems to be that you should use about 1/2cup of Epsom Salt per 50lbs of weight) and then I add 6-8 drops of essential oil (Young Living of course, as many other brands, will say “aromatic use only” or “not for topical use” on the label).
What oils do you add? Most oils are great in a bath; here are a few of my favs.
- Lavender or Frankincense for relaxation?
- Eucalyptus for a spa like feeling?
- Lemongrass and Copaiba for joint support?
- Panaway for tired muscles?
- Elemi or Ericifolia for skin care?
Epsom Salts are great in a bath or a food soak. Magnesium supports nerve and muscle functions, reduces inflammation, and improves circulation. There’s even some research that between the reduced stress, skin support and detoxfing effects, epsom salts may help with weight loss.
Where to get Epsom Salts?
These are the ones I buy and at only 9c an ounce it’s an awesome deal.
