You might have seen my post where I talked about how Lemon was the first oil in my Premium Starter Kit that I used up. Well, by contrast, Purification was the last! I still don’t really know why it took me so long to cotton on to the fact that this oil is a miracle worker. Now Purification is the oil that I re-order most often (well, maybe behind Lavender and Cedarwood but it is definitely in the top 6).
The ways you can use Purification to attack smells and odors are practically endless but I will share a few of my favorites with you. And I’d love to hear your favorite ideas for Purification too!
- Smelly Shoes: Add a cotton ball with a couple drops of Purification to the toes of shoes to freshen them up. Works especially well for shoes you don’t wear often, or ones you wear without socks.
- Teen Boys: Hide a cotton ball with a couple drops of Purification under a bed or behind some furniture. #yourewelcome
- Sports Gear/Gym Bags: Use a diluted solution of Purification to wipe down sports gear and equipment, and again the cotton ball trick works for the pockets of gym bags too.
- Room Spray/Car Spray/Bathroom Spray: add a couple drops to a spray bottle and top with water to make an air freshener that works like a charm.
- Hand Bags/Evening Bags: Got handbags you don’t use regularly? Purification on a cotton ball is a great way to keep them ready to use in a flash (and as a bonus it will keep moths away!)
- Trash/Garbage Can: Use a panty liner with a couple of drops of Purification stuck on the inside of your trash liner can to keep it smelling sweet. (It also works with Diaper Pails!)
- Fishing Tackle: Try keeping Purification Cotton balls in tackle boxes when they are not in use.
- Carpet: Add a few drops to the filter on your vacuum or lightly mist your carpet with diluted purification before you vacuum.
- Laundry/Mildew: Got a load of laundry that you forgot about? You know that ominous smell when it starts to go sour! Add a couple drops of Purification to your dryer balls (if you don’t have them, I LOVE these organic ones or you can use a damp sock or washcloth) before you put it in the dryer and you can rescue that load! This one tip alone has saved me HOURS of my life rewashing clothes. Seriously. This is a game changer.
