It might be labeled “Animal” Scents Ointment, but this product soothes skin for both our furry friends as well as ourselves.
Animal Scents Ointment is a protective, soothing salve designed specifically for external use on animals. Rose Ointment is the equivalent product for humans but when you compare the ingredients side by side you’ll see a LOT of overlap. And given the fact that Animal Scents comes in a 6.3oz tub and Rose Ointment comes in a 0.8oz tub, you can see why a lot of us humans are raving about Animal Scents Ointment. #bargain
Its gentle formula with Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) and Myrrh, two of nature’s most powerful essential oils, is safe for animals and humans alike. Even better, a portion of all proceeds from Animal Scents products goes to support Vital Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the habitat of grizzly bears and other wide-roaming wildlife.
Animal Scents Ointment is packed with skin-soothing ingredients like Apricot kernel oil, Sunflower seed oil, Mango seed butter, Castor seed oil, Avocado oil, Tamanu seed oil, Rosehip and Jojoba. Plus it’s packed with YL’s own Therapeutic Grade Essential oils like Palmarosa, Carrot seed, Geranium, Patchouli, Coriander, Myrrh, Tea tree, Bergamot (Furocoumarin-free), and Ylang ylang. (Psst: a lot of these oils are in my DIY night serum – that should give you a hint about the power these beauties pack!)
I decant Animal Scents Ointment from the big tub into small jars (I prefer glass ones like this that are flat and fit easily in a pocket). And keep one in my handbag, in the pocket of my ski jacket, with my gardening gloves, the car glovebox and anywhere else I might get dry cracked hands and knuckles. It’s also great for keeping noses soft when you are using tissues frequently, and for those elephant elbows that we can develop as we get older.
Tried it before? For yourself or a furry loved-one? I want to hear what you thought.
